Your partner for surface treatment with plasma technology
Innovation, sustainability and efficiency in industrial processes
Openair-Plasma® technology is the ideal solution for surface treatment in many industries. Because of its versatility, atmospheric plasma is used to improve the wettability and surface energy of many materials such as plastics, metals, glass and composites, achieving adhesion of glues, paints and inks to complex high-performance materials while reducing the use of harmful chemicals.
Founded in 2005, Plasmatreat Italia S.r.l., a subsidiary of the German group Plasmatreat GmbH, is based in Marghera, Italy, at VEGA PARK - Science and Technology Park of Venice. Our advanced laboratory and testing room enable us to offer customized solutions for surface preparation and pretreatment.
Cooperation with industrial partners, research centers and trade associations testifies to our ongoing commitment to innovation and the promotion of green and sustainable technologies.

We have already been able to support many italian companies in making their processes even more reliable, efficient and environmentally friendly.
Atmospheric plasma: the fourth state of matter revolutionizing industry
Plasma pretreatment is the key technology for:
- Advanced microfine cleaning without the use of hazardous chemicals.
- Surface activation for better adhesion of glues, paints and inks.
- Atmospheric plasma deposition (CVD) for thin film deposition. In this application context, high-energy plasma rich in reactive species transports specific precursors to the surface of the material so as to induce new surface properties. Selective functionalization of substrates using the PlasmaPlus® technique has long been used in the automotive, appliance and electronics industries, particularly the semiconductor industry, for purposes related to adhesion, corrosion protection and dielectric barrier film application.

With Openair-Plasma® and PlasmaPlus® technology, many traditional industrial processes are replaced by more efficient and environmentally friendly solutions, eliminating the use of chemical primers, improving adhesion on difficult materials (such as polypropylene and EPDM), and reducing VOC and CO₂ emissions.
In addition, pre-treatment of materials with our systems ensures greater durability and resistance to the most extreme environmental conditions.
The use of Dyne testing or analytical devices such as Contact Angle during our processes allows us to precisely control the quality of surface treatment, providing a quick response on the change in surface energy achieved.
Innovation and sustainability: the future is plasma
Innovation is at the heart of our mission: we are constantly developing tailored technological solutions to optimize production processes and reduce environmental impact.
Thanks to our global presence with 34 locations around the world, we offer technical support, expert advice and laboratory testing to ensure our customers the best performance in terms of efficiency, quality and sustainability.
Boasting 30 years of experience, we firmly believe that the future of industry belongs to plasma: a technology with endless applications, capable of revolutionizing industrial processes in a cleaner and safer way.
Together with our partners, we conduct an in-depth study of their processes, analyze production flows and the potential for successful use of plasma in the relevant industry. In this way, we go further to find the best solution and achieve the best result for our Clients.
